Welcome to LiveKriss! 🎉 If you’re here, it means you’re ready to embrace a journey of intentional living, faith, and growth.🌱 Let me take a moment to share what this blog is all about—and how it’s more than just a blog for me; it’s a reflection of the life I’m striving to live.

LiveKriss has two powerful meanings. First, it’s rooted in my faith—reminding me to live with Christ ✝️at the center of everything I do. It’s about walking with intention and reflecting His love, grace, and truth daily. It’s a call to live with purpose and to be a light to those around me.

The second meaning comes from living authentically as myself—embracing who I am, stepping into my purpose with confidence, and letting my faith guide me as I grow.🌸 LiveKriss is about being true to the person God created me to be, no matter where life takes me.🌍

Here’s the truth: I’ve started many things in my life and left most of them unfinished. ❌Whether it was a project, a passion, or a new habit, I often lost momentum before reaching the finish line. 😩This lack of consistency has kept me from fully stepping into the purpose God has for me.

📅The list of unfinished projects is long: 💼 forex trading, 🏡 real estate ventures, 📝 government contracts, 🧬becoming a DNA tester,  📈  binary options, 📞running a call center, 🛋️ dropshipping, 👗 starting an online clothing store, 📹 launching a YouTube channel… The common denominator in all of them? 💰 Money. The goal was always money. But I’ve realized that money is not a great motivator for me. I’ve been searching for something deeper: purpose.🙏 I want to align with God’s will, trusting that when I do, the money will follow. 📖Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

I also believe that anything we do shouldn’t be just for ourselves, but for the benefit of others. 💖🤝Serving others brings fulfillment and reflects God’s love.💕

📖 Galatians 6:9-10 encourages us: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

But this year, I’m determined to change that. My word for the year is consistency.🔄 I don’t just want to start things—I want to finish them. 💪I want to live with purpose, fully embracing the plans God has for me. Last year, I began learning to incorporate God into every area of my life, and this year, I’m all in.🙌 My goal is to not just involve God in the big decisions but to invite Him into the small, everyday moments as well.

As 📖 Proverbs 3:6 reminds us, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This scripture has been a guide for me

(Fun fact: it’s been my screensaver for 3 years📱), encouraging me to seek God’s presence in every aspect of my life and trust Him with the journey ahead.

That’s why LiveKriss isn’t just a creative outlet; it’s my commitment to showing up for myself, my faith, and my family. I’ll also be keeping it real with some marriage moments, parenting realness, and the struggle of managing life and trying to lose weight while staying faithful to God’s plan. It’s all part of my journey, and I’m excited to share it with you.

Speaking of family, I’m a wife and mom of six—three girls and three boys,👧🏽👧🏽👧🏽👦🏽👦🏽👦🏽 in that order. I’ve been married for 16 years to my sexy, chocolate husband, David. 🍫❤️

My days are filled with balancing work as a 💼 payroll accountant,  👩‍👧‍👦 keeping up with the kids, and 💆🏽‍♀️ sneaking in moments for myself. But amidst the chaos, I’m learning that purpose is found in being faithful—not perfect.💖

And when I do find those moments for myself, I’m usually exploring my love for 👗 fashion and 💰 hunting for the best bargains. I adore finding stylish, modest pieces that reflect who I am, and I get such a thrill out of discovering a deal. 🛍️Shopping has always been one of my passions—not just for the things I love, but for the creative inspiration it brings. Here on LiveKriss, I’ll be sharing my favorite looks, tips for snagging amazing deals, and ways to incorporate style into everyday life without breaking the bank.

In my spare time, I love doing my own nails.💅 It’s my little way of unwinding and expressing creativity. I’ve also been on a skincare journey, which has been a testimony of how God is working on me in the area of consistency. 🌟What started as a small effort to take better care of myself has become a reminder of His faithfulness and the fruit of sticking to things. I’ll share more about that in another blog post 👀!

As a child, I had a love for reading 📚, and I’m rediscovering that passion. I’ll also be sharing books that I’m reading along the way. Additionally, I’m an information junkie, so I love watching videos that are informative and insightful on Youtube.

A dream of mine would be to live in another country for a year to explore other cultures and ways of life 🌍—just imagine the growth and inspiration that could bring! ✨

Now, let me be even more real for a second. I have a weird quirk I can’t deny 😅—I love watching 🦹pimple popping videos, 🧼rug cleaning videos, and those strange 🥘“weird food eating” clips. You know the ones that make your face turn up with a mix of disgust and curiosity? Yup, that’s my guilty pleasure. There’s something oddly satisfying about them.

It’s all about embracing who we are—quirks and all. I believe living authentically means being true to yourself, even if that means indulging in some strange hobbies. Life’s too short not to enjoy the little (and sometimes odd) things, right?

💭Okay back on course, this blog isn’t just about me. It’s about growth, faith, and the everyday moments that shape us. It’s about embracing who we are while striving to become who we’re meant to be. Whether I’m writing about 👰️‍♀️marriage, 👩‍👧‍👦motherhood, ⚖️personal development, or my latest bargain find, my goal is to encourage and inspire you to live with intention.

If you’ve ever struggled with consistency, felt overwhelmed by life’s demands, or just wanted to feel more connected to your purpose, know that you’re not alone. 🖊️ Let’s take this journey together—showing up, staying the course, and trusting God to guide us every step of the way.

So, here’s to a year of growth, faith, and yes, fabulous fashion finds. Welcome to LiveKriss—let’s live with purpose and style! 💖✨

📲 The Internet: A Blessing and a Burden

In the age of social media and online influencers, it seems like there’s a solution for every problem—skin included. I would spend hours scrolling through YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram, watching influencers rave about the latest “holy grail” product. 🙌 Every video convinced me that THIS would be the miracle my skin needed.

The problem was, there’s just so much information out there. For every person who swore by a product, there was another saying it ruined their skin. 😵‍💫 I felt overwhelmed and even more confused than when I started. Was I supposed to focus on hydration? Exfoliation? Barrier repair? It was like trying to put together a puzzle when half the pieces were missing—or worse, didn’t even belong to the same puzzle. 🧩

That’s when it hit me: what works for one person might not work for another. God reminded me of Psalm 32:8 📖, where He promises, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” I needed to stop relying solely on the internet and start seeking God’s guidance for my specific situation. 🙏

🧴 Skincare and Soul Care

The first thing I learned is that outward changes require inward work. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Similarly, if you don’t take care of what’s happening beneath the surface, no amount of cover-up will help. 💕

I prayed, “Lord, guide me to what will actually work for my skin.” But God wasn’t about to hand me glowing skin on a silver platter—I had to learn consistency first. Every time I jumped from one product to the next without giving it time to work, it was like He was saying, “Kristen, if I show you the answer now, you’ll just quit on it like you’ve been doing.” Ouch. 😬

This lesson applied not just to my skin but to my spiritual life as well. I realized I had a tendency to seek quick fixes in my faith—praying for immediate results instead of allowing God to work in His timing. Just like skincare, spiritual growth requires patience, discipline, and trust. 🌱

🎢 My Skincare Rollercoaster

Before God led me to the right routine, I tried everything:

  • Chemical Peels: I thought they’d wipe the slate clean. Spoiler: they didn’t. 😓
    • Turmeric Soap: Two weeks in, I gave up.
    • Beef Tallow: Yes, I rubbed cow fat on my face. Don’t ask. 🐄
    • Dial Soap: Great for hands, not for faces. 🧼
    • Korean Skincare: Finally, some progress! 🇰🇷

When I discovered Korean skincare, I started with Anua’s Heartleaf Pore Cleansing Oil and Foam Cleanser. Double-cleansing helped control my oily skin, and I learned that moisturizing—even for oily skin—is essential. That’s when I added CosRX Snail Mucin Essence 🐌. Yes, it’s made from snail secretion but trust me—it’s magic. ✨

But I still needed help with my dark spots and breakouts. And that’s when God stepped in.

✝️ The Game-Changer: Tretinoin, Remedy, and Trust

God led me to Tretinoin, a powerful prescription retinoid known for increasing cell turnover. It helps with acne, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. But here’s the catch: it required a prescription, and my busy schedule didn’t leave much room for dermatologist visits. 😩

Cue divine intervention: I stumbled upon Doctorly on YouTube. One of the doctors not only explained Tretinoin’s benefits but also created an online store where I could access it. Talk about God removing obstacles! 🙌

Through the same source, I found Remedy, another amazing product that helps reduce pore size and improve skin texture. Remedy combines retinol, salicylic acid, and niacinamide—perfect for tackling uneven texture, blackheads, and sebaceous filaments.

Now, I alternate between Tretinoin and Remedy every night—and consistency has been the real game-changer. Even when I’m exhausted, I’ll get up at 2 a.m. to make sure I stick to my routine. 💪

📷After lots of trial and error (and prayer), here’s where my skin started to change once I found a routine that worked for me:

LiveKriss is a faith-driven, fashion-forward, and purpose-filled blog created by Kristen. 💕 Faith, Consistency, and Confidence

This routine has been life-changing. My breakouts have decreased, my dark spots are fading, and I haven’t worn makeup in over three months. 🎉 I feel confident with just brows, cluster lashes, and lip gloss—it’s such a freeing feeling to walk around bare-faced without that voice in my head screaming, “Everyone is staring at your skin!”

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” When I committed my skincare journey to Him—along with the discipline to follow through—He guided me to the right products and routine. 🙌

Another scripture close to my heart during this journey is Psalm 139:14: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.” This verse reminds me that I am wonderfully made, blemishes or not. 🌟

📷And here’s where God’s guidance, consistency, and the right products have brought me:

💬 Clearing My Heart

Through this process, God has shown me that just like skincare, life requires discipline, patience, and trust in His timing. If you’re feeling stuck—whether it’s with your skin, your heart, or any other area of your life—invite God into the process. 🙏

He cares about the big things and the small things, and He’s ready to guide you to the solution that’s perfect for you. 💖

📷The journey isn’t over, but I’m so thankful for the progress God has brought me through! If you’re struggling with your skin—or anything else—invite God into the process. He cares about every detail.
